Boho Hotel Prague.
With some comped nights in Prague, I had only one night to find a place for Hubs and me to stay. After looking at some of the smaller properties across the city, the BoHo Hotel Prague caught my attention. Listed as Small Luxury Hotel of the World, I decided not to invest too much further time into my research (remember, I was trying to keep my visit to Prague as spontaneous as possible) and made my booking for one of the upper room categories. Were my instincts correct? Did I make the right choice? Pros Location. I’m beginning to think it’s a bit of a given in Prague (or Brno), but nearly every hotel in these cities are well placed and easy to see the city from. However, if arriving via train, the Boho Hotel is exceptionally close to the station, as well as several tourist locations in the city. We…
Atelier Cocktail and Bistro, best of Brno?
Going to Brno, located a lovely two-hour train ride from Prague, I had a list of places to consider. I wasn’t sure how hungry we would be on arrival, and also, I managed to get a super annoying cold. I hadn’t booked anything specific in the city, but we had suggestions from a local friend of Hubs to help guide us a bit (plus, Hubs had been the year before, and had a general idea of what was good in Brno). Located just off one of the major squares, we walked into Atelier Cocktail and Bistro a few minutes before noon. Honestly, I was delighted to see so many people eating lunch before 12. Brno is clearly my kind of place. Even though there are crowds just outside the door, Atelier is set back in a beautiful courtyard, allowing for some respite (just my speed). Deciding to sit outside, we…
Eska, local food done right.
As mentioned previously, I did little to no planning for our recent adventure to Prague. With the exception of a reservation for our meal at Eska, we played the rest of the trip by chance. Eska, part of the Ambiente group, was recommended by several friends. Additionally, having both a look at the menu and noting its Bib Gourmand status with Michelin, I decided this was a good choice for our first dinner in the Czech Republic. Located a bit off the beaten path, Hubs and I enjoyed our walk over to Eska. Spread over two floors, we were seated upstairs, overlooking the central courtyard. Except for the pair behind us, the diners seemed to be mostly locals, something I always take as a good sign. The decision to try the eight-course degustation with was already a given, so we settled back to enjoy the evening. After a few small…
Field.*
Long-time friends and really anyone who has spent time with me will know that I am a planner. For everything. Every detail. Any moment. Which is why I challenged myself to do little to no planning on our recent visit to Prague. Honestly, it worked out great. I don’t feel that we missed anything, and had the trip we wanted. When soliciting advice for my visit to Prague, it was my amazing followers who did ALL the heavy lifting when it came to planning our vacation. Literally, all I had to do was glance at my DMs, and all my food options came quickly together, including Michelin starred Field. As we’ve done in the past, the choice to do a longer lunch degustation was the right choice for numerous reasons. Walking out of the Beer Spa (which might be a post for another day), the weather was a bit wet and…
