Honestly, where did this week go? This was probably the most active I’ve been outside of the house since March. I finally visited The Maine (those chandeliers!), revisited LahLah (a brilliant ladies night, AED119), and tried the new season at Tresind Studio (just go, you’ll love it – check out my buddy Eat Go See’s comprehensive review). I also had my first inedible/un-postable food sent to me (!), but fortunately also enjoyed Go! Greek, who were nice enough to send us lunch on Thursday. Something must be in the water, because I’m expecting a lot of deliveries next week (no complaints).
- Interesting discussion of gender in the kitchen.
- Hotels, treat your workers like you treat your guests.
- What IS the difference between over easy and sunny side up eggs?
- You’ll want to watch this take on how (not) to cook rice.
- The (exciting) return of Dunkaroos.
- What I imagine it must be like living in the States right now (apologies if my Insta-feed is causing these feelings).
- Who is most at risk at a restaurant?
- What US cities have been craving for delivery.
- Where to buy global pantry ingredients.
I finally (!) finished writing my manuscript for 2020 (I generally write a book a year), and have simultaneously moved onto to edit an old book which is going to be new again in November. With a draft due August 14th and another book to get ready for publishing, my life is a bit bookish for the conceivable future.
For the week ahead, we’ve got book club on Sunday (outing at the new Turkish restaurant at Rixos), and for now – that’s it!
