For many travelers, food is always going to be a big part of travel, and it’s no surprise that the two often go hand in hand in this way. If you think about your own travels, it’s likely that one of the main memories is of what you ate and which restaurants you visited, and it is this way for most people who like to travel. Similarly, if you are planning a future trip, you will at some point find yourself wondering what you are going to be likely to eat, and what the restaurants and eateries and street food will be like. It is one thing to be aware of food being part of your travels; it’s quite another to base your travels around that food, and yet this too is a perfectly reasonable means of arranging your own future travel plans. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the best destinations across the world for eating out. As long as you have considered these places, you are likely to be able to enjoy your foodie travels much more in the future.
Malaysia
Food might not be one of the first things you think of when you plan a trip to Malaysia. In all likelihood, you are focused primarily on finding a nice townhouse to stay in or figuring out which religious structures to visit. But actually, Malaysia is something of a hidden gem when it comes to food, and you are likely to find it especially evocative for this reason. With a truly varied cultural and therefore culinary tradition, you can expect a wide range of types of food in Malaysia, especially in some of the more touristy parts of the country. You are likely to be able to find everything from Indian to Chinese and even Thai and Japanese cuisine here, and all of it is produced and cooked to perfection in most of the hotels and eateries you will find dotted around. Of course, you will also be able to find plenty of amazing street food, which is something which you can really get stuck into in a big way, and you might even find to be a little addictive. If nothing else, you will come away with a sense of something which is truly unique and delicious.
Australia
You might visit Australia for the surf and sun, but the restaurants are somewhere where the culture really comes to life. For any big seafood fans out there, this is absolutely one of the world’s top destinations, and you can be sure that you can find plenty of delicious food from the sea all over the country. Whether you are in a fancy restaurant in Sydney or a small stall in Brisbane, you’ll be amazed at the sheer overwhelming quality of all the seafood – from prawns as big as your palm to incredible fresh oysters and beyond. What’s more, the pricing does tend to be fairly good for this kind of food compared to many other countries around the world, and you should find that you can afford a good amount of it and stay pretty full throughout your trip. Consider Australia too for some of the best steaks out there, and seen some pretty incredible fish and chips.
UK
The UK is something of a melting pot when it comes to food, and it makes for one of the most diverse and fascinating culinary landscapes anywhere in the world. Whether you are in the mood for some traditional British food, or you want to get stuck into some incredible Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, or anything you might care to name, you can be sure that the UK, and especially cities like London, have it all in droves. When it comes to the traditional English stuff, you have some incredible meaty dishes and of course the staple fish and chips. But because of the diversity of the culture, all of the other cuisines are given just as much love and attention, and it makes for an experience which is all the richer and more enjoyable for its being so diverse.
As you can see, there are many places around the world you can consider if you are looking for somewhere to eat out, and you won’t ever feel that you are at a loss for somewhere to eat. Depending on what kind of food you tend to enjoy, you should always be able to find something delicious, and knowing where in the world to find a particular food can be incredibly useful indeed.
