January 2019 To Do List.

This to-do list is one of the important ones, right? Nothing sets the tone like the first goals list of 2019 (which I have procrastinated to the late hours of 2018, for the record). More Instagram posts with my dumb face. Although it always feels like lame self-promotion (and I have a lot of secondhand embarrassment for others), I realize that A to Za’atar is me, and as posts with My Dumb Face ® do good or better than many of my other ones, that I should make an effort to better connect Courtney Brandt with all that food. Sigh. Let’s not even get started on direct address on Instastories, which is the other part of this goal. Stop giving a fuck (really). And here we are at the end of not only the month but also the year! 2018 had some highs and lows, but I can say I’m optimistic for 2019 and where things will go. November ended up being a wonderfully productive month — Hubs and I managed to do some adulting, including going to the dentist and getting our cars serviced. #nextlevel Okay, then, what do I need to accomplish this month? Be more judicious about accepting invites. I’ve really strayed from my ‘only one night a week’ promise, and I’m often feeling the toll of my decisions. It’s fine to go out, and for most of the events, there’s a tangible goal to achieve, however, I think I need to focus better on what is one of a kind, and what will invoke the most JOMO. As busy as October was, I think November has the potential to be even busier, at least where Dubai is concerned. So, without any additional procrastinating, here’s my to do list for the next month (and spoiler alert, it’s mostly unrelated to food): Be consistent with events and reviews. I’ve really taken a backseat with getting out locally, and there’s a lot going on! I’ve got a few things in my calendar already, but I need to make more of a commitment to getting out on a regular basis. Publish a book! Unrelated to food writing, but I’ve not balanced my author stuff as much as I could have in October (and I have the crap book sales to prove it). October 2018 To Do List.

Holy shit, according to this to do list, October 2018 is going to be non-stop. It’s a bit stressful for someone who likes to have one ‘at home’ day a week. To be fair, in September, I did fairly well. Here’s what I’ve got ahead of me (in no particular order). Seoul, Korea (September 30th – October 5th). My first official press trip! This was postponed from late August, and actually it’s all worked out for the best. I’m approaching this trip as a learning lesson. I’m certain there are things I haven’t asked, known to ask, or considered. Overall, I’m optimistic and think I’ll be making at least one new friend out of the experience. I saw this concept on another blog, and I decided, why not? I’m already list oriented, so let’s see if this is a feature I keep up with! So, what exactly do I need to do in September? Prep for our trip to the Maldives! Yes, we’re leaving on September 20th and I’m super excited to visit Soneva Fushi for Hubs’ birthday. It’s been a while since we visited together, so I’m really looking forward to our visit. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the property, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts about it after we visit. Keep on Keto.
