There is much to see and do in Australia, with plenty of experiences that deserve to be on your bucket list.  While you will never get the time to do absolutely everything — Australia is one of the largest countries in the world — you can still pack a lot into the time you have by exploring one or two of the country’s major regions.

For the purposes of this article, we have neglected many of the traditional bucket list ideas worth considering in the land down under in favor of the culinary experiences worth trying.  Australia places highly as one of the best destinations for dining out, and while we will barely scratch the surface in this article, our ideas should still tempt your tastebuds.

  • Have dinner in the sky.  While you could take to the streets of Sydney with a rental from Bayswater Car Rentals, why not get a bird’s eye view instead?  With stunning views of Australia’s cityscapes, this high-flying dining experience is situated in (and above) this iconic city.  This meal is your once-in-a-lifetime experience to look down upon the Harbour Bridge and iconic Opera House while eating modern Australian cuisine made by one of the country’s award-winning chefs, all topped off with some of the finest international wines.  Vertigo sufferers need not apply, but if you are prepared to wine and dine 50 metres above ground, you can find out more details here.

  • Eat Australian wildlife at Attica.  Acclaimed as one of the best restaurants in the world, this is also the place to go if you want to eat cuisine that is more closely associated with Australia’s indigenous cultures.  Beef, lamb, and pork are not on the menu, but if you’re a meat eater, you might be pleased to see kangaroo, emu, crocs, and wallabies amongst the culinary delights on offer. There’s also crayfish and hand-picked crabs for seafood lovers, and if you’re looking for a dessert, who in their right mind would turn their nose up at a dish comprised of black ants?  Okay, with reference to the later (and perhaps those poor roos), you might not be keen, but as bucket lists are all about leaving your comfort zone, you might want to sample a little something from the menu.

  • Eat with the Koalas.  If the above suggestion turned your stomach, you can breathe easy knowing that yes, we did say eat with the Koalas and not actually eat them!  At the Wildlife Sydney Zoo, you are afforded the opportunity to enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast in the company of these adorable animals, but unlike these iconic cuties, you will be munching down on traditional hot breakfast food and not eucalyptus leaves!  Booking is essential, however, as this is one attraction that is popular with the tourists.  Visit their website for more information.

We haven’t listed everything here, so if you want more bucket list food experiences, follow this link for more adventures on your culinary journey.  From eating Australia’s so-called ‘best pizza’ to sampling traditional bush food, there is much on the list to whet your appetite. Enjoy!
