Steady as she goes. I’m editing an old YA book, while waiting for a major copywriting job to take off. I had a busy week of deliveries including Dan’s Home Food (for those in need of pasties and pies, although we liked the fish and chips best), Chef Middle East (I have 3 kilos of seafood in the freezer, send me your paella recipes), Shake Shack (rather than build my own, honestly, I would rather just order one already made), and my favorites, Carnistore (we stock up every three weeks or so for our weekend steak fest). I also went out with the book club to Asil, the newest restaurant at Rixos JBR.
- What to do with a nut surplus?
- Need to try soon, air fryer smores.
- Extra time to listen? Best food podcasts. We like Splendid Table and Cherry Bombe.
- The saddest outdoor dining experience? Which weirdly makes me homesick, because I legit love the Glendale Galleria.
- Check me on Helen Farmer’s show (my segment is from about 29:25).
- Pre-order the Friends official cookbook.
- No handshakes from Paul Hollywood in the upcoming season of GBBO.
- Can a fine dining restaurant open during a pandemic?
- Please make this for me.
- Authors and their signature cocktails. (This author prefers a nice glass of champagne.)
- Would you subscribe to a restaurant?
Next week is another steady week – I’m revisiting Tania’s Teahouse, then over to BOCA for the Dubai Summer Surprises for another episode with Helen. I’m also debating dinner at La Cantine on Monday night.
What are you up to this long weekend?
