As I had always been working full time and living in other cities, many of the exciting conferences, workshops and other interesting events in Dubai have been off limits to me. But not this year! This year, I am going to attend! So, why would I schlep to the World Trade Center? What’s in it for me?
As the PR people inform me: “Over 26,000 visitors expected to attend Middle East’s largest travel trade event with 2,800 confirmed exhibitors, 64 national pavilions, over 50 seminar and technology theatre sessions, and several new show features including the launch of the first ever Wellness & Spa Lounge and ATM Global Stage. Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2016, the region’s leading travel industry showcase is a four day event of business networking opportunities, insightful seminar sessions, leadership forums, and recognition of 12 months of industry achievement.”
What does the above mean to me? The collection of travel and hospitality professionals is a very unique opportunity to meet a lot of people that would otherwise take months to communicate with. Even better? There is a speed network event just for bloggers! Does it get much better? My plan is to bring a ton of business cards, practice my pitch and see what sort of leads I can come away with. In the next week, I’m going to make a top five or ten list of who I want to approach, and a few ‘dream’ properties as well. (Goals like this have been paying off for me recently, so I’m hoping to keep the momentum going).
Should you want to attend (it’s free, April 25-28), here’s the link – hope to see you there!
