Alberta is one of Canada’s most beautiful provinces. Home to some gorgeous natural attractions, quirky small towns, art, museums, and more, Alberta has something for everyone. If you’re looking to relocate, whether it be for work or for personal reasons, consider places like Calgary, Banff, and St. Albert. Here are a few reasons why you should call Alberta your next home.

Cost

Compared to other areas of Canada such as Ontario, Alberta has a very low cost of living. Apartments can go for around $800-$1000 CAD, and real estate is also extremely affordable. If and when you’re ready to purchase a home, you can get the same city vibes you’d get in Toronto or Vancouver at a fraction of the price. If you’re looking for something more rural, Banff homes for sale are extremely affordable compared to other resort towns like Whistler, and the winter ski seasons will be less busy!

There is so much to do in Alberta, and to even begin to scratch the surface, you’ll have to move here yourself. Check out the largest mall in Canada, West Edmonton Mall, which features a waterpark, bowling alley, over 800 shops, and even two hotels! If you’re more into nature, you have to visit Banff National Park, the oldest National Park in Canada. Here, you can hike, ski, or even ice skate on Lake Louise. There is nothing in the world like the natural beauty you’ll find here. You’ll also not want to miss the Calgary Stampede, a two-week rodeo festival full of music, history, and great food.

If you’re looking to move for career opportunities, Alberta is a great place to check out, particularly in the financial sector, education, health care, and oil and gas mining. In the bigger cities such as Calgary, there is also opportunity in their booming tech industry. If starting your own business is your end goal, Alberta has some of the best workers and the highest labor productivity in Canada.
