Al Safwa First Class Lounge: Sterile and Overlarge.

Somewhere over the Atlantic, it occurred to me — because Qatar brands their shorter flights in a two cabin way (i.e. economy and first class, rather than economy and business class, as they technically are), we were going to get to use the Al Safwa First Class Lounge (I looked for a link or website dedicated to the lounge, but could not find one). Although Hubs didn’t believe me, after our arrival from Atlanta, when we went to the Al Marjan Business Class lounge, the hostess asked if we wouldn’t like to enjoy the first class lounge, so we walked back across the concourse and rode the escalator up to the (slightly) fancier area. Flight status: QR’s new DOH-ATL route.

Photo heavy post ahead! When trying to decide how to capitalize on some of the great rates from Qatar Airlines, Hubs and I debated for a very quick few hours before deciding on booking the Atlanta route from Doha (via Dubai). We hadn’t planned on going home to the States this summer, but with rates at nearly half price (for 2 business class tickets), there was nothing else to do but hit ‘purchase.’ Of course, that was January, and here we are in June. While I could post about each segment, I think I’m going to capture the outward and inbound flights. So, all aboard for the third ever DOH-ATL flight! A Little More About A to Za’atar’s Travel Habits…

Found this on Conde Nast Traveler Well Traveled tag and wanted to borrow… I’ve previously completed a similar questionnaire, but this one seemed fun to share. MILES LOGGED in 2015: AUH-LAX, AUH-AMS, AMS-RKV, AUH-SEY, DXB-OTP. And at least one trip a month between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. So…whatever that adds up to. I always pack: A deck of cards. The same pack has been in my suitcase since the beginning of time. It rarely gets used, but I like that it’s in there. My favorite luggage is: My husband’s small 4 way roller. I love my bag (purchased at Macy’s in 2005 for $99), but it’s just a bit too big. I know I’ll have to retire it soon… My iPad is loaded with: Books.
