I'll have to admit that my expectations for events in the GCC are usually low (9 years in, the optimism kind of gets beat out of you #sorrynotsorry).  I pretty much ask for a few things when attending things: fair prices, no long lines and an easy way to get home.  And you know what?  That's exactly what we got at the 2015 Taste of Abu Dhabi! I sprung for VIP tickets (on sale, early bird, of course) and so we had access to the Eithad Lounge (which is basically a decent place to sit and has a dedicated bar - not to mention a mock up of the first class seating, which turned into a jungle gym for children after about 6PM). This year, there were more exhibitors and while we didn't attend any of the cooking demonstrations, overall, the event seemed to be better attended than the previous year.  For us, it was less about the food and more about a non-brunch venue to catch up with friends and sweat profusely).  I also appreciated the wider selections of alcohol this year.  Furthermore, arriving at 2PM and leaving at 9PM, I'd say we got our money's worth.
