MILES LOGGED in 2015:<\/strong> AUH-LAX, AUH-AMS, AMS-RKV, AUH-SEY, DXB-OTP. And at least one trip a month between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. \u00a0So…whatever that adds up to.<\/p>\n

I always pack:<\/strong> A deck of cards. \u00a0The same pack has been in my suitcase since the beginning of time. \u00a0It rarely gets used, but I like that it’s in there.<\/p>\n

My favorite luggage is:<\/strong>\u00a0My husband’s small 4 way roller. \u00a0I love my bag (purchased at Macy’s in 2005 for $99), but it’s just a bit too big. \u00a0I know I’ll have to retire it soon…<\/p>\n

My iPad is loaded with:<\/strong>\u00a0Books.\u00a0<\/em>Novels for research, fun books to read, things I’ve started but never finished.<\/p>\n

On planes I\u2019ll eat: <\/strong>Almost anything, but I really like the soup and bread that Etihad serves in business class.<\/p>\n

The app I use most on the road is:<\/strong> Tunein radio or Deezer. \u00a0I likes my music!<\/p>\n

What’s your night-before-a-trip routine? \u00a0<\/strong>Before a longer trip, I am usually running around cleaning the house. \u00a0While I like to pack the entire week before the trip (oh yes, I am crazy), the night before is spent making sure whoever is coming to catsit will be visiting a clean house.<\/p>\n

We almost always will do takeaway with a bottle of wine – who wants dirty dishes?<\/p>\n

Got any pre-travel rituals? \u00a0<\/strong>I might be a tad too connected to social media, but I do like to ‘check in’ on Facebook and let the world know where I’m off to.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your preferred carry on? \u00a0<\/strong>I’m looking for a better one! \u00a0At the moment, it’s a backpack, which is very helpful for carrying a laptop, but is not that stylish.<\/p>\n

What do you wear on-board? \u00a0<\/strong>3\/4 length shirt, dark denim jeans, a sports bra and trainers. \u00a0I actually will tend to wear the same outfit when flying for years (check my pictures – it’s true!). \u00a0It’s not super chic, but it gets the job done and I’m comfortable.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite hotel amenity? \u00a0<\/strong>ALL of the toiletries. I’m kind of obsessed with things in small packaging. \u00a0Furthermore, I enjoy using them months later and fondly recalling my trip.<\/p>\n

What do you do on a flight? \u00a0<\/strong>Watch movies and read books. \u00a0It’s very rare for me to sleep. \u00a0I tend to eat simply out of boredom.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite business cabin? \u00a0<\/strong>Of Etihad, Emirates, Delta, and Qatar, I like the Emirates product best.<\/p>\n

Favorite airline? \u00a0<\/strong>8+ years in the GCC, it’s still Emirates – mostly because they are the best about upgrading!<\/p>\n

Favorite airport? \u00a0<\/strong>ATL and DXB. \u00a0Both feel the most like coming ‘home.’ \u00a0Dubai simply because there is so much to do.<\/p>\n

Favorite airport lounge? \u00a0<\/strong>The\u00a0Qatar\u00a0Airways business-class lounge at Heathrow. \u00a0It was the first (and only) time I’ve taken a shower at the airport! \u00a0The service, food and drink that were on offer were absolutely unparalleled.<\/p>\n
