With some comped nights in Prague, I had only one night to find a place for Hubs and me to stay.\u00a0 After looking at some of the smaller properties across the city, the BoHo Hotel Prague<\/a> caught my attention.\u00a0 Listed as Small Luxury Hotel of the World, I decided not to invest too much further time into my research (remember, I was trying to keep my visit to Prague as spontaneous as possible) and made my booking for one of the upper room categories.<\/p>\n

Were my instincts correct?\u00a0 Did I make the right choice?<\/p>\n

Pros<\/h2>\n

• Location.\u00a0<\/strong> I’m beginning to think it’s a bit of a given in Prague (or Brno), but nearly every hotel in these cities are well placed and easy to see the city from.\u00a0However, if arriving via train, the Boho Hotel is exceptionally close to the station, as well as several tourist locations in the city.\u00a0 We enjoyed being able to step right out the door and almost immediately see historical sights, as well as fun shopping destinations.<\/li>\n
• Service.<\/strong>\u00a0 On arrival, I always appreciate when hotels focus on check-in not immediately at a desk or counter, but instead in the lobby.\u00a0 We were invited in and asked if we preferred prosecco or a glass of fruit juice (obvs we took the bubbles).\u00a0 As the keys are oversized, they are meant to be left in the lobby, and thus there was a friendly interaction every time we came or went.\u00a0 I can see how some people might not enjoy this, but I thought it was a nice touch.<\/li>\n
• Gifties.<\/strong> Do I like token objects?\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 So, in addition to our glass on arrival, the small loaf of traditional Czech cake – presented with chocolate-covered strawberries, along with a design book about the hotel, were all welcome elements (even for such a short stay as ours).<\/li>\n
• Design.\u00a0<\/strong> Honestly, of the three hotels we stayed in during our trip to the Czech Republic, the overall design and layout at BoHo Prague was my favorite.\u00a0 Minimalist, with beautiful features, this was exactly my kind of place.\u00a0 Really, the entire property is worth exploring — you can get a sense of what the building used to be (they even offer tours), but the updates are wonderfully modern and sophisticated.<\/li>\n
• Convenient on-site facilities.\u00a0<\/strong> While we didn’t use the soaking area or the sauna, the bar was well placed for a drink just after a long city excursion or before a night out.\u00a0 For a hotel this size, I thought everything was in line, even exceeding expectations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Cons<\/h2>\n

  • Over market pricing.\u00a0<\/strong> For our suite, we definitely paid a premium.\u00a0 Could I have found better value for money in Prague?\u00a0 Of course!\u00a0 Do I care a lot?\u00a0 A little, but not enough change my mind about booking.<\/li>\n
  • A weird toilet situation.<\/strong>\u00a0 While I thought the bathroom was exceptionally cool, the see-through doors and, shall we say, lack of noise-canceling made for a very intimate experience.\u00a0 Fortunately, as a married couple of over 15 years, there isn’t much that is sacred.\u00a0 Had we been on our honeymoon, it might have been a different story.\u00a0 Modern design is great, but guests needs also should be taken into consideration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Would I stay at Boho House again?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>I would!\u00a0 It’s a lovely little boutique hotel with a memorable staff.<\/p>\n
