With a trip to Abu Dhabi on the calendar to attend the media preview of the Flavours of the Palace event (March 16th – mark your calendars), I was delighted to once again walk through the soaring spaces of Emirates Palace. With a collection of the top talented chefs from the property, we were in good hands to prepare and preview a selection of the dishes available to try on Thursday, March 16th.
For our service, we met with four of the chefs (remember, there are a ton of F&B venues on site). Walking into the kitchen of Sayyad, we broke into small groups and discussed the plating and presentation for some of the iconic and delicious dishes the property presents to guests. While there was no mise en place involved, it was a brief insight into the process of getting essential components into a dish that goes out to patrons (not as easy as it looks, and I can’t imagine when a busy restaurant has 100+ covers in a night). In fact, I’d love to have additional instruction from conceptualizing a dish to honing a finished version.
Ready to see some of my hard work?
And the (delicious) work of the actual chefs?
Ready to try the flavors for yourself?
An evening with pop up versions of some of the top Emirates Palace restaurants including: Mezzaluna, Sayad, Mezlai, BBQ Al Qasr, Le Vendome, Hakkasan, Mawal, and Le Cafe takes place on Thursday, March 16th. Complete with live music and a raffle draw, this event seems like the best bet for next weekend. The cost is AED150 per person (which includes F&B vouchers of the equivalent amount, and yes, you can buy extra vouchers). Questions about the event or reservations can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
A to Za’atar was a guest of Emirates Palace for this event. Opinions are my own, just ask my husband.
